Notes: The recollections open with a report on the uprising in the West and the Duck Lake fight. The federal government then ordered Todd to raise the Ottawa company of sharpshooters on 29 March 1885. Todd provides detailed accounts of the daily activities, events and military engagements of the sharpshooters during the North-West Resistance. These accounts cover the period of the Resistance and its aftermath until 21 July 1885.
