Notes: | William Johnston Tupper was a private in the Halifax Provisional Battalion which had been sent to the North-West. He had been assigned to Swift Current and Medicine Hat to guard supplies and communications routes. After the Resistance he was granted a pass to visit the Rocky Mountains. His letter to his mother describes his trip and reactions to the Resistance. |
