Title: | With the Midland Battalion to Batoche |
Notes: | Roy provides an introduction to Charles Salyer Clapp's memoire entitled "Reminiscences of '85". Clapp, a private in the Midland Battalion, wrote an account of his experiences eight years after the Resistance. He does not delve into the reasons for the Resistance nor the problems of mobilizing the militia; rather, he examines it from the view of a private soldier who believed in patriotism and a sense of duty. |
