Title: The Trials of Poundmaker and Big Bear, 1885
Notes: A critical examination of the evidence and proceedings of the trials of Poundmaker and Big Bear. Bingaman concludes that Poundmaker, a Cree chief, supported Riel in the Resistance and deserved the verdict of guilty. On the other hand, Big Bear, also a Cree chief, did not deserve the guilty verdict because he did not act in treasonably.
