After an investigation of Riel's personal papers, the records of the federal Department of the Interior and the Manitoba land titles offices, Flanagan argues that Riel made money by buying and selling land in Manitoba between 1869 and 1885. These transactions did not end until 1903 when Riel's son sold the last piece of his father's land |
