"Town (PO 1902- ) east of Carlyle on #8 and #13. After Sir Redvers Buller (1839-1908), English general and commander of British forces in the South African (Boer) War, 1899-1900. Buller, then a captain, had been part of Wolseley's expedition to put down the Red River Rebellion in 1870. He was renowned for his ability to pack big loads around the many portages the expedition encountered."
