books.         Includes bibliography of surveyed books and references to

reviews of the titles.  The thirty titles seem close to being the population of

such titles that had been published in English at time of the survey.

A survey of library holdings of 222 titles; includes checklist of the 222

titles of fiction and nonfiction, which were drawn from standard

catalogues and from lists of finalists and award winners of the annual

American Library Association Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Book Awards

and the annual          Lambda Literary Awards.  Canadian library catalogues

examined were those of Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon,

Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, and Halifax.  An intracity analysis

was done for Toronto.
