Brief electronic article mentions that the Toronto CRC is

causing debate and some consternation among the larger

membership of the Christian Reformed Church, which has

279,000 members in Canada and the United States. It also

points out that the 1973 North American synod established a

policy that homosexual members are eligible for office, but

those who are actively homosexual are ineligible” [quotation from

the article], and that the policy was reaffirmed in 2002.

Short article noting outcomes on same-sex-blessing deliberations

at the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada meeting in

Winnipeg, June 24, and at the meeting, also in Winnipeg, of the

Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, held at the same time.

Article states that the “General Synod [Anglican]…narrowly defeated a

resolution that would have allowed  dioceses to decide for themselves

whether or not to bless same-sex unions” and that the Lutherans “defeated

a proposal to introduce same-gender blessings by a vote of 200 to 181. The

Lutheran convention in 2005 had defeated a similar proposal.”
