The Authorized Textbooks database provides a list of resources authorized by the Saskatchewan Department of Education for use in elementary and secondary schools from 1884-1992. The database also provides information on individual titles and editions available in the Education & Music Library's Historical Textbook Collection.
This searchable database lists authorized textbooks, as well as other resources recommended for use in schools and for inclusion in school and public libraries. Prescribed resources were gleaned from a variety of archival sources including a thesis by Gerald A. Langley and textbook circulars published annually by the Department of Education.
