Get a library card

  • USask library cards are free for external borrowers.
  • You must be 16 years of age or older.
  • To get a card you must come in person to the service desk at any USask library location and provide two pieces of identification, one of which must have your current address.
  • Your library card is valid for one year from the date of issue. Contact Ask Us to renew your card.
  • If you lose your library card, let us know right away. We will freeze it to prevent anyone else from borrowing items under your name. Contact Ask Us about replacing a lost or damaged library card.
  • Library notices are emailed to the address in your library account. It is your responsibility to keep your contact information up to date. If we detect an incorrect address, your library account will be frozen until it is updated. If you need help, Ask Us.

Borrowing privileges

Electronic resources

External borrowers have limited access to licensed electronic resources like databases, e-journals, and online articles.

The library is legally bound by licensing agreements we have with digital publishers. These licensing agreements limit online access to current students, faculty, and staff and anyone connecting from the campus network. Each of our libraries have public access computers that you can use to access our electronic resources. Find out more about computers in the library.
