Abstract:
The high level of truck losses reported by pilots over North Vietnam and Laos in the past several months is a gross indicator of the increased effectiveness of US air attacks against trucks. However, the reported losses appear to be considerably exaggerated and should not be used to conclude that the enemy's logistic ability to continue the war has been significantly impaired. There is abundant evidence that the North Vietnamese are not suffereing from a shortage of trucks.
