Abstract:
From June 1965 to August 1966 the Viet Cong (VC) in Long An Province had sufficient manpower and did not place special emphasis on recruitment, although they continued their usual indoctrination procedures to attract enlistments in villages over which they gained control. Women were apparently not recruited for combat units but were used in rear service units. Party membership requirements had become more stringent and all major VC administrative posts were manned by party members.
