Abstract:
The Disctrict Chief of Kanchriech District, Prey Veng Province, said in early August that the Khmer Rouge rebels in his district were led by Viet Cong cadre. He did not estimate the number of Khmer Rouge in his district. He said that security in Kanchriech and Komchay-Mea districts had declined since the restoration of diplomatic relation between Cambodia and the United States, and he suspected that these developments were related.
