Abstract:
This Memo is a summary of CIA reporting on the activities of Brigadier General Nguyen Ngoc Loan, Head of the Directorate General of National Police and Chief of the Military Security Service. The summary covers the period from September 1966 to date. A review of this reporting indicates that General Loan has been involved in a wide gamut of political activities and that he has used his position as a senior security official to apply political pressure.
