Political situation: Buddhist opposition to Thieu-Ky military government continued in Central Vietnam; Directorate added ten civilians to its membership; General Le Nguyen Khang replaced General Nguyen Bao Tri as III Corps Commander; Election Law Drafting Committee completed its work and submitted its recommendations to Directorate. Revolutionary development: Cadre; Rural attitudes toward revolutiobary development; Viet Cong reactions to revolutionary development; GVN personnel changes; Returnees (Chieu Hoi). Economic situation: Prices; Currency and gold; GVN foreign exchange release; Rice; Continued decline in rubber production. Annex: South Vietnam economic indicators; Weekly retail prices in Saigon.
