Abstract:
Senators Dang Van Sung and Nguyen Gia Hien declared on 18 December their intention to form a political bloc of both houses of the National Assembly and to organize a political party outside the Assembly. They announced their intention at a meeting of 40 prominent politicians. Hien said that he is prepared to use the Greater Solidarity Forces as the organized base for this new party. The group names a preparatory committee, acquired a meeting place and staff for three months, and expects to hold its first committee meeting on 26 December.
