JUSTICE REFORM COMMISSION HOLDING SASKATOON TOWN HALL MEETING
SASKATOON – The Commission on First Nations and
Métis Peoples and Justice Reform is holding a Town Hall Meeting in Saskatoon on
Thursday, March 20.
This event will be an opportunity for members of
the community to speak on any issue relating to justice. The two-hour session
will be very informal with the agenda to be determined largely by the
participants.
"This is the first time we have held a dialogue
using this format," explains Willie Littlechild, chair of the Justice Reform
Commission. "We are hoping people will get up, make comments or ask questions
and as chair I am very excited about the chance to hear what is on the minds of
people from Saskatoon and the surrounding communities."
Since there is no specific agenda, speakers are
free to address issues ranging from policing, court services, domestic violence
and Legal Aid.
The moderator for the Town Hall Meeting is David
Kirton co-host of Rawlco Radio’s Meeting Ground.
The Town Hall Meeting will be held from 7:00 p.m.
to 9:00 p.m. at the Indian & Métis Friendship Centre, 168 Wall Street.
