JUSTICE REFORM COMMISSION TO HEAR PRESENTATIONS,
HOLD COMMUNITY DIALOGUES IN LA RONGE AND MELFORT
SASKATOON
– The Commission on First Nations and Métis Peoples and Justice Reform has
scheduled two community dialogues and will hear two presentations next week.
On Monday, June 2, the Commission will hear a
presentation from the Saskatoon Police Service. This event will take place at
the Indian & Métis Friendship Centre, 168 Wall Street, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Also that afternoon, the Commission will hear from the Canadian Bar Association.
That presentation begins at 2:45 p.m., also at the Friendship Centre.
Later in the week, the Commission will travel to
La Ronge and Melfort for community dialogues in those communities.
On Thursday, the Commission will hold a community
dialogue in La Ronge beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 4:00 p.m. This
event will be held at the JR Memorial Community Centre.
On Friday, June 6, the Justice Reform Commission
will participate in a community dialogue in Melfort. This event is being
organized by the Métis Nation – SK Eastern Region and will be held at the
Melfort Local Building, 205 Broadway Street North. The dialogue begins at 9:00
a.m. and continues until 4:00 p.m.
