The 2011 University Authors Exhibition marks the grand opening of the new Link Gallery in the University of Saskatchewan Library. Located on the first floor of the Murray library, it connects the North Wing with the South Wing and has long been used as an exhibition space.  Recently the Link Gallery was renovated to include new flooring, new cabinet space, a vanity screen for the washroom, enhanced windows, painted walls, and a new multi-media system.

On 27 September 2011 at 4:00, the 2011 University Author's Exhibition kicked off with an opening event featuring guest speaker Dr. Peter Stoicheff, Dean, College of Arts and Science. Dean Stoicheff shared his thoughts about the obviously still viable future of the book as illustrated by the diverse publications coming from U of S faculty and staff. The catered event attracted many of the esteemed authors who were featured in the exhibit.
