Get a library card

Bring your APEGS membership card (or other proof of membership) to the service desk at any staffed University Library location to receive your card. Standard APEGS memberships receive a library card valid for the current calendar year (expires Dec. 31). Lifetime APEGS memberships receive a library card valid for five years from date of issue.

Renew your card by presenting your up-to-date proof of APEGS membership at any library service desk or contact Ask Us to renew online. Online renewal will require you to submit a digital copy of your proof of APEGS membership.

If you lose your library card, report it to the library immediately so that your card can be deactivated to prevent someone else from using it. To replace lost or damaged library cards, visit any Library Services desk during hours of operation.

Borrowing privileges

APEGS members can borrow up to 50 regular items for 30 days. Standard loan periods and fines apply.

If you acumulate $30.00 in late fines, your borrowing and ILL privileges will be automatically suspended. Pay your late fines to reactivate your library access.

APEGS members have free access to interlibrary loan (ILL) and scan request services.

ILL allows you to borrow materials from other libraries when we do not have what you need in our collection. Make a request online and pick up from any staffed University Library location. 

Use the scan request service to have digitized copies of print materials from our collection emailed directly to your inbox (in accordance with Fair Dealing Guidelines).

APEGS members have limited off-campus access to databases, electronic journals, e-books and online articles. The library is legally bound by our licensing agreements with digital publishers which limit online access to current students, faculty and staff, and anyone connecting on the campus network.

When you are on campus, you can access most licensed electronic resources for non-commercial research and educational purposes. Visit the Murray, Education and Music, Science, Law, or Health Sciences library to access electronic resources using a public access or alumni computer.
