The University Library plans and coordinates surveys primarily for quality improvement. The process includes administering surveys to library clients, interpreting survey results, identifying recommendations and actions, and reporting out on results. Library surveys can vary significantly in terms of frequency of occurrence (e.g. one-off or cyclical in nature) and the portion and type of library clients surveyed.

Library Spaces Survey

The Library Spaces Survey, conducted in 2016 as part of the University Library Master Plan, collected feedback regarding the revitalization of physical library spaces across all libraries on campus to continue to meet the changing need of the campus community and help shape the library’s future. LibQUAL+ Survey

The LibQUAL+ Survey measures library users perceptions and expectations of library service quality in three dimensions: affect of service (customer service provided by library staff); information control (library resources, collections, and access to resources); and library as place (library spaces, facilities and amenities). The University Library has conducted the LibQUAL+ Survey three times (2007, 2010, and 2013) with the most recent final report posted below.

The University of Saskatchewan (USask) is part of a select group of 15 research-intensive universities in Canada known as the U15 Group of Research Universities. The following report, including actionable results, summarizes the 2013 USask LibQUAL+ results to the 2010 results and the 2013 USask results to our U15 peers.

The annual publications of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) statistics and Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) statistics allows the University Library to track progress over time and benchmark with U15 peer institutions. The following reports represent comprehensive analysis of annual ARL and CARL statistics summarizing the results for the University of Saskatchewan (USask) versus U15 peers. These reports demonstrate our commitment to move beyond submitting annual libary statistics to analyzing and using published results to determine trends and benchmark to our U15 peers.
